City Center Newport is an eclectic mix of historic charm and character with a growing mix of tourism and B-2-B businesses in a small town urban setting.

A strong district association, local government commitment to revitalize the district and over a million visitor transits annually all combine to create renewed energy in the City Center Deco District.

City Center is the crossroads for all of Newport's historic districts. With over 560 parking spaces within the district, City Center offers prospective businesses more customer access than any other Newport urban district.

Newport is a transportation hub, with state highway routes to the north, south, and east, an airport, and an excellent port. With an estimated population of 10,200 in the City and 44,000 in the County, City Center is positioned to serve a broad customer base. Newport is centrally located to Lincoln County, which includes the cities of Depoe Bay, Lincoln City, Newport, Siletz, Toledo, Waldport and Yachats, and the communities of Chitwood, Seal Rock and Tidewater.

Recognized as one of the first impressions for visitors of Newport, the revitalization of City Center is seen as a 'tier one' priority by The City of Newport, The Central Coast Economic Development Alliance and the Yaquina Bay Economic Foundation.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has selected Newport as the new home of the agency's Marine Operations Center - Pacific (MOC-P.) Relocation from Seattle is to be complete by May 2011.
