Sunday Sept. 14, 2008 is THE art deco party of the year on the west coast when the 24th Annual ADSC Gatsby Summer Afternoon Picnic is held at the historic Dunsmuir estate in Oakland, CA. It’s a trip back in time with vintage autos, live music, dining, dancing, performances and more.

There are no spectators at this event, EVERYONE is a participant. When all 600- 700 people are partying like its 1929, it creates a completely unique art deco era experience!

The City Center Newport Assn. is going and we’re taking two lucky raffle winners along on an ALL EXPENSE PAID TRIP FOR TWO. The prize includes round trip from Newport, airfare, 2 nights hotel, tickets to the event and lots more!

Only 100 raffle tickets will be sold. Tickets may be purchased for $35 from Priscilla at the Deco District branch of Bank of the West, authorized CCNA members or from this web site through PayPal. Proceeds benefit CCNA’s ongoing efforts to revitalize Newport’s unique art deco heritage.

Contest Details

Prize includes:
• Round trip for two from Newport departing Saturday 9/13 at 8 am, returning Monday 9/15 about 1 pm
• Airfare for two from PDX - OAK
• Two nights hotel
• All ground transportation to and from PDX and while in Oakland
• Meal allowance and a Gatsby Picnic Basket
• Saturday afternoon deco sightseeing
• Tickets to the event on Sunday afternoon
• Expert advice on getting your Gatsby look together.

Retail value of the prize package is over $1,100. Only 100 tickets are available. Each ticket costs $35.00. A $2.50 processing fee is added for each online purchase. There is no limit on the number of tickets that can be purchased. A winner will be drawn at random at the regular monthly CCNA meeting on August 12. You need not be present to win, but must confirm within 24 hours. Winners must provide their own period dress suitable for the event. Note About Online Raffle Ticket Purchases:

Due to postal regulations, raffle ticket stubs cannot be returned by mail for purchases over the Internet, through the mail or by telephone. When an order is placed, we will complete the ticket by filling in the name, address, and phone number, and we will drop the ticket in the barrel at CCNA. At the drawing, the winner will be contacted based on the name and information on the ticket. To be awarded the prize, two forms of identification, one of which must be a photo ID will be required to prove that this person is the person on the winning ticket. Online purchasers do not need their ticket stubs for any reason. However, the stubs will be kept on file at CCNA. Purchasers can call the CCNA at 541-574-3333 or email deco@citycenternewport.com to check when the order was processed and obtain their ticket number if so desired. Winner need not be present to win.
